Kindelpitiya refused bail

The Colombo Additional Magistrate Ms. Kumari Abeyratne today refused bail for journalist and former UNP candidate Susil Kumara Kindelpitiya and further remanded him together with two others over allegations of abducting a woman and possessing an illegal weapon.

The Magistrate rejected the bail application submitted by the suspect’s counsel since the court does not have jurisdiction to grant bail to the suspects without identifying the weapon.

The complainant in her complaint alleged that on March 3rd while she was waiting to go home after office at a bus stand she was abducted assaulted and locked up in a room and held there till 02 April.
