Australian government’s policy in regard to Sri Lankan refugees is continuously under review
Australian Anglican Bishop had condemned the policy adopted in regard to the Sri Lankan and Afghanistan refugees. Bishop Brian Brown from New Castle had mentioned in regard to refugees erissues; the policies adopted by Australian ruling and opposition parties cannot be accepted.
The statement published by the Australian opposition party, indicated that a request had been made to deport the rescued refugees. Further it mentioned the Australian government is delaying in providing refugee status to the Sri Lankan and Afghanistan refugees. Bishop Brain had appealed that refugees should be observed in the basis of humanitarian. Massive problems are faced internally, due to detaining the refugees. Meanwhile the lessons which were learned by the former actions of John Harward in regard to refugees which should be turned back was further mentioned by Catholic Bishop Rev.Michel Marlone.
According to the opinions, the former government could not continue its second term due to the strong policies adopted by John Haward in regard to refugees in foreign lands.
