The President has told several confidantes that NFF Leader Wimal Weerawansa since assuming duties as the Minister for Housing, Construction, Engineering Services and Common Amenities had not initiated any proper projects in relation to his subject matters, sources from Temple Trees said.

The President had also said that the only task carried out by Wimal, while sitting one of the most luxurious ministerial offices from dawn till dusk, is to appoint all his defeated party members to high posts in state institutions under his purview even disregarding the ethics of the UPFA.

He had added that Wimal’s actions had placed him in a difficult spot in relation to the defeated SLFP members.

According to the President, Wimal has become the most unsuccessful minister in the government and has proven to be a failure as a leader and administrator and that in the next Cabinet reshuffle in November, ministerial portfolios would only be given to the Ministers who have proven themselves in the current Cabinet.

The President it is learnt is now considering the possibility of appointing Wimal to a ministry that does not play a key role in the government or as a deputy minister to an efficient minister.
