Fonseka to be produced in Magistrate's Court to make statement

The Colombo Chief Magistrate's Court issued notice on the Army Commander to produce former Army Commander Gen Sarath Fonseka in Courts on May 12 to make a statement in connection with the investigations on comments made by Gen Fonseka earlier to a newspaper.

 

 

 

The CID had sought permission to record the statement of Gen Fonseka in connection with the comments he made to the Sunday Leader claiming that Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa had told a senior officer that LTTE cadres surrendering should not be spared.

 

Accordingly Chief Magistrate Champa Janaki Rajaratna issued notice on the Army Commander to produce Gen Fonseka.
